NOTICE: I'm tired of getting hammered by the faceless inconsiderate masses
out there who can't figure out how to rate-limit at a reasonable value.
Bandwidth ain't free, y'know. If you want some of this stuff, drop me a line
(I'm sure you can figure out a valid contact address) and I'll hook you up.
Some various videos and images I've collected on street racing, drifting and
just plain going fast. Also some stuff on the Mazda RX-8 (which I would dearly
love to own).
Note: some (maybe all?) files may require Windoze Media Player (although
any somewhat recent version of mplayer will handle them). Sorry about
that; I didn't make the videos, so I can't choose the format. If you can't
stream these files, just right-click and "save as..."

- Ever wanted to see what a race between an M3 CSL, a Lotus, an S2000, an
RX-8, an SL55 and a Ferrari would look like? Here's a series of 4 video clips
from Japan featuring these 6 cars on a GT course over 5 laps. Surprising
results (well, surprising second place anyway).
- A great rally video with a
soundtrack by Linkin Park. 18528 KB
- A VTEC-powered Acura NSX vs. a Ferrari
on the drag strip, proving that horsepower isn't everything. 5888 KB
- This guy is the "drift king" in Japan. He's
good. 11000 KB
- Learn how to drift at drifting school in
Japan (there's a school for everything, I guess). 12704 KB

- The Veltex Altezza. The Lexus IS 300 is
known as the Toyota Altezza in Japan, and Veltex is a tuning group that has
produced some amazing performance from this car. 3040 KB
- And then there's this car. I have no
response to this, except that I wish I knew what line of work all these guys are
in, so I could afford to do this kind of insanity too. 12440 KB
- Submitted by Addi, here's a video of a Saab 9000
running at 1.3 bar (roughly 20 psi or so) doing 80 - 180 kph rather quickly.
Note the turbo meter (upper right gauge), which is never supposed to be in the
red ... 1232 KB
Okay, here's the good stuff: the folowing 2 videos were filmed in Stockholm,
Sweden, by some people with more cojones than common sense. The series is called
"Getaway in Stockholm", and features some folks in highly modified
street cars leading the Stockholm police
on a wild-goose chase through the freeways and streets of Stockholm. Some
totally amazing driving. The full videos are available from
this site (I think; I don't read Swedish,
so I'm not positive), which is apparently a major site for the street racing
scene in Sweden. (NOTE: I later purchased the DVD containing both of the
first two videos; apparently there were 2 more filmed later on featuring an
NSX and a C5 Corvette.) See
getawayinstockholm.com for purchase info. Thanks to
Christian Veit (remove
NOSPAM) for the tip.
- The first one, featuring a Porsche 911 twin
turbo and some (much slower) police cars. 80256 KB
- The second one, better IMO, featuring a Toyota
Supra and a Ford Escort Cosworth (yes, an Escort!), both tuned to ~450hp.
These guys are really fast. 266216 KB
